I am a lawyer, frequent speaker, blogger, and writer.

I publish TechLaw Crossroads, a no-bullshit blog devoted to the practical impact of technology and innovation on law practice. It sits at the crossroads between the new and the old: it's hard to imagine a more extraordinary clash of cultures than the disruption of tech and innovation and the traditional, precedent grounded legal profession.

Bar Activities

I am Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association's Law Practice Division which currently has over 21,000 members. I also serve as Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association's Law Practice Committee. I am also Webinar Chair and Steering Committee member of Defense Research Institute's Law Practice Management section.

Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel
I am past Chair of the Data Breach, Privacy and Cyber Insurance Section of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC). The FDCC is an invitation-only defense trial lawyer association. I am a member of the FDCC Evolve Program faculty. The Evolve initiative includes the design of a certification program. The program require that participants demonstrate proficiency and expertise in using presentation technologies. I hold the certification of Technology Master Advocate.

Litigation Experience
I am a national litigator and advisor primarily in the mass tort, business and consumer class action, and privacy and data breach arenas. I now practice with my firm, embryLaw LLC.

Recognitions
I was also recently recognized by Best Lawyers In America in Mass Tort/Class Actions. I am co-author of a book entitled Mass Tort Claims Resolution Facilities. I am also co-author of the 2020, 2017 and 2016 editions of the American Bar Association's Legal Technology Survey Reports.


Passions
My passions include education and all things tech and travel. And, finally, I am unabashedly and unapologetically a University of Kentucky basketball fan.
