Biography:
With more than 25 years of experience in the legal publishing industry, Ed Walters is a hands-on leader and educator who is transforming the delivery of legal services. As the Chief Strategy Officer at vLex, he oversees the development and execution of the company's global strategy, with a focus on product innovation, business development, and licensing. He is the co-founder and former CEO of Fastcase, a pioneering legal publishing company that invented many of the modern tools for legal research, including results sorting, citation analysis, mobile apps, and analytics for legal research. Ed led the company's growth and expansion, securing multiple partnerships and acquisitions, and reaching more than 1.2 million subscribers. Ed has more than 10 years of teaching experience, as an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law, Cornell Law School, and The University of Chicago Law. He teaches classes such as The Law of Robots, The Law of Autonomous Vehicles, and Generative AI in Legal Practice. Ed holds nine legal tech patents, is the author of Data Driven Law (Taylor & Francis 2019) and a contributing author to Legal Informatics (Cambridge 2021).
